Our school offers an individualised approach to teaching through the implementation of the Australian Curriculum.  All students in Prep-Year 10 are provided age-appropriate learning experiences in the following learning areas:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Health and Physical Education
  • Technologies (Digital Technology/Design and Technology)
  • Humanities and Social Science - HASS (History/Geography)
  • The Arts (Music/Drama/Dance/Media Arts/Visual Arts)
  • Languages (Auslan)

The curriculum in Years 11-12 utilises the Guideline for Individual Learning (GIL) to plan suitable individual learning goals for students.  Upon completion of Year 12, students at Rockhampton Special School will exit with a Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA).  More information surrounding programs offered in senior secondary can be found under vocational learning.
